Owner of this 2021 Lincoln Corsair EcoBoost reached out to PHAD because the local Lincoln Dealer has been unable to repair a VERY intermittent Charging System Problem that has been plaguing this car since DAY 1. The car only has 25k miles!
The issue has occurred a total of 12 TIMES over 3 YEARS...WOW...how am I supposed to reproduce the customer complaint?? MISSION IMPOSSIBLE!
"U012D Lost Communication with Alternator" is stored in memory.
It has been to the dealer 4 times over the last 3 years, and is STILL BROKEN after several parts cannon attempts... They replaced the Active Grille Shutter...TWICE!
Owner had no choice and started a BUY BACK request, but got DENIED by the dealer, stating that the car was over 3 years old...Crazy!!
Owner's wife loves her Lincoln...can we save the day and diagnose a weird issue that happens ONCE EVERY FEW MONTHS??
I don't have high hopes, but let's follow Standard Operating Procedure:
Research the Charging System
Make a GAMEPLAN: test the LIN BUS wiring integrity from the PCM to the Alternator
Will the Diagnostic Plan yield any interesting results?
