What no one sees is how much each of them sweated to tame a language full of conjugations, tongue twisters and false cognates. Speaking Brazilian Portuguese is a journey. But who has suffered the most: a German, an American, a Romanian, a Frenchman, a Peruvian or a Congolese? And what about the Angolan Valder, our Portuguesespeaking brother, who was shocked to learn that Brazilians washed their hands at the "pia"? Yes, friends, our language is alive and treacherous.
