Fox Video (1991)/20th Century Fox (1981 RARE Prototype)

Cayby J (Archived Channel)

The lost animated version of the 1981 TCF logo with the prototype sky background, taken from an EXTREMELY RARE 1991 letterboxed VHS copy of "Revenge of the Logo Kids".

Before you get confused, it is FAKE, but I'll explain the techniques used to make it look authentic as possible.

Firstly, I edited Puz's 1981 Fox remake in Blender, by replacing the regular sky background with my painstakingly painted Photoshop recreation of the prototype sky from Rocky Longo's original cel; which I spent about six months to make it look close to exact. (BTW, if you're watching this Puz, this was NOT intended to wreck your work, or rename to a fake company whatsoever; I give extreme credit to your original model, and I apologize for borrowing if I'm otherwise being a logo kid.)

Then, the Blender render was edited in MAGIX Vegas Pro where I applied an overlay of film dirt and dust, sourced from a 35mm SMPTE leader scan in 4K (along with some BCC Film Grunge and Jitter plugins), to give the illusion of a vintage 70mm film scan.

I later figured it would make sense to filter the logo on a VHS tape to give it some extra authenticity. So for the 1991 Fox Video logo, using the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" LaserDisc rip as a source, I utilized AviSynth to apply QTGMC, DeDot and Checkmate filters for deinterlacing and dot removal. I then exported the clip into an image sequence in VirtualDub, and upscaled the frames in Waifu2x (for smoothening gradients) and the ESRGANbased Cupscale GUI with 1x_BroadcastToStudioLite and 2x_DigitalFilmV5_Lite models.

Then, after sequencing the two logos on Adobe Premiere in a DVNTSC format (essentially the same as a regular DVD) and exported as an MPEG2 file, the clip was packaged in an ISO disc image using DVD Flick, and burnt to a blank DVDRW disc using ImgBurn.

Finally, I recorded the disc to a Sony ST60 SVHS broadcast tape using a combination of the Sony DVPSR210P DVD Player connected to the JVC SVHS HRS3911U VCR in EP mode. I then captured footage in VirtualDub with the LiNKFOR 1080p RCA AV/SVideo to HDMI Converter (with output via HDMI to USB Video Capture Device Grabber), leading up to this final edit exported from Adobe Premiere.

And for those wondering:
1. I will never parse public links to project files for you to wreck
2. The TCF render edit with the prototype sky was only for testing purposes before I plan on a larger variant with it in the future
3. I have NO association with the current rights holder Disney (who now owns Fox; renamed as 20th Century Studios), nor will I ever gain profit off of
