"Before I had the surgery, my hand curled when I would try to shake hands with someone. The fingers would get curled up underneath. It was very embarrassing. The recovery time of that [needle aponeurotomy technique] was a couple of days whereas with the full surgery it was six weeks with my hand in a cast."
