Kallu or Toddy has been a beverage that livens up the spirits of people drinking it. It is a poor man’s wine that is consumed across Asia, Africa and other countries. This beverage has a lot of lingo and some of them are Kallu in Malayalam or Shaendi in Kannada.

Getting pure Toddy is difficult nowadays, and this drink has been adulterated by adding many chemicals. In fact, drinking a glass of unadulterated Toddy really helps our body. This drink can be had with beef fry or fish which is an excellent combination.

Usually people drink Toddy for intoxication. But drinking pure Toddy will only cause slight intoxication but makes a person sleepy. But an excess of Toddy consumption everyday, will result in acidity and flatulence in some people.

Instead of drinking adulterated Toddy, we will show you how to made this drink at home without adding any chemicals or preservatives. This is a healthy drink and do try out this recipe and let us know in the comment section below

About Me:

Hi there! This is Jerry from Travel Chef. Starting a YouTube channel on food was a spark that struck me like having a delicious lemon souffle (pun intended) while I was having my masala dosa, and watching my mom and my wife cook. It struck me as to how to remember my mom’s recipes who is now 80 plus and, how do her children, daughter in law and grandchildren follow these recipes? After which all will be lost in time... Since me and my wife like travel and food, dad (above 85) suggested “Travel Chef”, and voila!, Travel Chef was launched. So, Travel Chefs' main priority is to capture the forgotten and authentic recipes that take place in each and every household and bring it to the entire world. By subscribing to our channel, please join us in our quest to have a glimpse of our hidden recipes. Bon Appétit!
