Kota Tua is the Old Dutch Colonial Town of Jakarta. As a Dutch (Flemish) speaker myself it was quite interesting to see the language being used on old buildings so far away from home.

In Kota Tua I was approached by so many friendly locals. Also some students that wanted to interview me for their school assignments.

A friendly local helped me to bargaing for a stroll around the old town in a horse carriage.

After that I bought some orange juice from a friendly streetfood seller. His friend was selling Telor Gulung (egg roll) so I tried that as well.

To end the video I visited Café Batavia which is the oldest Café in old town and I had some authentic bitterballen which tasted just like home!

With my Youtube videos I aim to show a different perspective than what most travel vloggers would do by interacting with people and really getting the local insights of the places I visit. No matter their social background I treat everyone equal. Sometimes this results in awkard conversations but I love it!
