Froe - My Favorite Farm Tool

Follow
farmhandscompanion

The froe is basically a long wedge with a handle used to apply leverage when splitting a bolt of wood. It’s primarily used for the “riving” of wood “shakes”. In this episode of my favorite farm tool, Pa Mac not only describes the froe in further detail, but also how to use it when making wood shakes for roofing the buildings on your small farm or homestead.
