This program is designed to give students a clear understanding of the historical events of various land acquisitions that led to the creation of the United States as it exists today. Archival footage combined with lively maps and graphics help tell the story of how the United States grew from 13 colonies to 50 states. Events covered include the Louisiana Purchase, the Texas Annexation, the Gadsden Purchase and more. Students will polish their map skills as they come to appreciate geography’s role in shaping our nation.
