Dana Genevieve was a New Jersey transplant who came to Southern California in her early 20s. Her dream was to always get married and have children. She followed that dream and had three children with her thenhusband. She never really thought she had a problem with alcohol or drugs, as she could use them leisurely and recreationally in party settings. However, later on, she was prescribed pain medication for her back. Her addiction developed after a while, and she struggled to get off of them.

She began going to treatment to try to address her condition but later did the thing that she thought she would never do: she became an IV needle user, putting pain meds aside and becoming a hardcore heroin addict. During that time, she also had a child. After approximately 23 treatment stays, losing her son to CPS, and being on a mission towards selfdestruction, God intervened and opened her eyes to her reality.
