When the steering column bushing wears out and breaks, then noises are produced in the front end, in the steering wheel or in the steering column.

The steering column bushing is a plastic sleeve that, once broken, is very difficult to replace with an identical one in one piece, because you have to break the entire steering column.

Today the steering column hub is made up of 2 half moons which makes it easy to change it without disrupting the steering column.

Grease and insert the two parts of the spigot bushing, a very hard material similar to Teflon

Grind and wear down the half moon parts until they fit smoothly until the steering column shaft can be turned by hand with very little force.
