I have been thinking recently about doing a new take of the elevators here at the Cathedral of Learning, and the idea slipped into my mind "how about I film a ride on every elevator in the building and combine it into one video". I don't think this has ever been done before, so here it is, every elevator in the Cathedral of Learning! The eight main cars (EL) were originally Westinghouse Selectomatics with RARE VR buttons. Otis modernized them between 2014 and 2016 with Compass Plus Destination Dispatch. Cars EH are the high rise bank. Cars F and H serve the majority of the floors. Cars E and G are the "service cars" and serve all or nearly all of the floors from B to 36 (there might be one or two floors that are only served by car F). Cars IL serve floors up to 23 (with a few exceptions). Car O is the only car that serves floors 37, 38, and 40 (from floor 36). Car P is the only car that serves floor 2 (from floor 3). The freight car serves the basement and the kitchen on G.
