Fulltime Vanlife in Newcastle and surrounding mountains Australia

Making Stuff, Going Places

Continuing on from my last video on the Watagans, this episode kicks off with me getting a flat tyre in the middle of the bush. Once that was sorted out, I headed down to Hunter Lookout and MacLeans Lookout, before deciding to spend the night at Hunter Lookout.

After a quick stop in at Heaton Lookout, I headed down the hill for another bike ride at Awaba Mountain Bike Park. After lunch it was back to the city for supplies as I went down to Speers Point and Warners Bay for the evening.

After getting my flat tyre replaced, I decided to head to the coast to check out Glenrock State Conservation Area, which coincidentally, also has mountain bike trails. From there the day ends in Merewether, admiring the amazing views of the ocean as the sun goes down and the full moon comes up.

Keep an ear open for some of my vanlifer tips, recommendations and general experiences throughout the video.

About me:
My name's Jason. I worked as Mechanical Engineer until mid 2023 when I was made redundant. Never one to miss an opportunity to have more fun in my life, I decided to move out of my house and started living full time in my self converted Ford Transit campervan. I pass my days mountain biking, bush walking and generally exploring the beautiful natural attractions that Australia has to offer.
