Fulltime Vanlife in Newcastle Australia

Making Stuff, Going Places

So I had a really nice bike ride along the coast from Merewether to Newcastle CBD...but didn't record it, thinking that I wouldn't really see anything all that exciting. The scenery along the coast of Newcastle is really quite beautiful, so I decided to settle in for a few days and do some more looking around.

I spent a fair bit of time on York Drive, King Edward Park which is a great section of road with fantastic views of the ocean. Perfect for whale and dolphin watching. Head down to the Bogey Hole to catch the waves crashing against the rocks. Would be a great spot for a swim if it wasn't winter.

I got hit by a couple of rainy days, but tried to get out between the showers to have a look around Fort Scratchley and the Nobbys Lighthouse. Followed up with a pleasant walk in the pouring rain along the Breakwater.

Keep an ear open for some of my vanlifer tips, recommendations and general experiences throughout the video.

About me:
My name's Jason. I worked as Mechanical Engineer until mid 2023 when I was made redundant. Never one to miss an opportunity to have more fun in my life, I decided to move out of my house and started living full time in my self converted Ford Transit campervan. I pass my days mountain biking, bush walking and generally exploring the beautiful natural attractions that Australia has to offer.
