One thing I love about South By Southwest is how random encounters can touch or inspire me as much as the biggestname keynote speaker or a sparkling workshop on the future of AI.

That's why I'm pleased to share this brief conversation I had by the escalator today at the Austin Convention Center with Gabriela RentaLopez, a Ph.D student at the University of Texas at Austin. She is working at UT's Biomedical Informatics Lab, and she plans to bring improvements to medical care in Puerto Rico.
