The real faces of a young and an old Galerius, the Roman Emperor who reigned from 305 to 311, was notorious for his persecution of Christians. During his reign he campaigned against the Sasanian Empire and across the Danube against the Carpi.
Although he was a harsh opponent of Christianity, Galerius ended the Diocletianic Persecutions when he issued the Edict of Toleration in Serdica in 311 AD.
