Today on Eating with Robert, I head to Western New York to taste a dish that has always intrigued and confused me: the Garbage Plate. Local garbage plate legend @garbageplatereviews pointed me in the right direction, straight to McCann's Local Meats, a localcentric butchery that does much more than slinging plates. Kevin McCann was kind enough to introduce me to this local delicacy, even joining me to break it down in an unplanned yet very welcome conversation about Kevin and his wife’s incredible menu.
Then I went to The Sweet Potato Pie Place, Rochester’s oldest soul food restaurant, to sample a sweet potato pie. Frankly I could’ve done a whole episode on this, because Victoria Lang was so hospitable and the pie was so good. I should really plan this show better. If you are in Rochester, you owe it to yourself to head here and try the pie but call ahead, as they’re very popular.
16 episodes! Man, that’s wild. If you like the show, make sure to like, comment and share, as it really helps with getting the word out. Much appreciated. See ya next time ✌
