There are various kinds of models to study the dispersion of air pollution in the surroundings .

Gaussian plume model is one such model which assumes the gaussian distribution of the smoke/air pollutants to compute the concentration of pollutants.

With the help of this model the effects of air pollution on humans, animals and on general environment can be understood.
