Ever wonder how the earth has changed over the past halfcentury? Celebrate 50 years of continuous earth observation by learning how to analyze Landsat imagery from 1972 to the present. For those of you who are already familiar with Earth Engine, we’ll take you deeper into the exciting capabilities of LandsatLinkr, an algorithm that enables harmonized time series analysis of the entire Landsat archive. We’ll walk through all the steps required to run LandsatLinkr including filtering and harmonizing fifty years of Landsat imagery across five different sensors: MSS, TM, ETM+, OLI, and OLI2. We’ll discuss what types of analyses are possible with this type of time series, including running a change detection analysis using LandTrendr. You have the option to follow along and work with us as a handson workshop or watch how it comes together as a demo. We'll use the Python API with a Colab notebook to process the data and the JavaScript Code Editor to inspect and visualize results. We’re looking forward to exploring with you!
