Comic Kids Org

In this art history for kids video, children will learn about American artist Georgia O'Keeffe. They will see photos and hear descriptions of her most famous artworks including "Black Iris", "Jack In The Pulpit" and "Cows Skull: Red, White and Blue". Have you ever wondered "what is modern art?" or "what is abstract art?". Kids will learn that these terms mean and why Georgia O'Keeffe was such an important modern art master. Children will see photos of her artworks hanging in museums such as the Art Institute of Chicago and see photos of her artworks, schools she attended and vintage photos of her hometown and New York City.

ABOUT OUR VIDEOS:

Comic Kids is a Miamibased nonprofit that helps children in the community learn art through comics, cartoons and books. We create "Art History for Kids" videos as short educational videos that we use in our classes which also serve as resources for teachers and homeschoolers to help their children learn about art history. The goal of these videos is to increase children's art education by exposing them to art history at a young age and videos can be for lower up until high school children. Our videos will show between 20 50 photos of famous artists and their paintings, drawings and sculptures so that children can get a vast knowledge and overview of their styles and techniques. We also include information of the artist and their education including the art history movements which explains the importance of the art history timelines they were a part of. All of our videos include specific art terms such as Impressionism, Modernism, Modern Art, Abstract Art, Cubism, Pop Art, Surrealism etc. We keep the videos under five minutes so children may stay engaged as they learn about famous artists, art styles, art definitions, historical artists, art movements, painting techniques and modern art concepts. By releasing videos consistently, we help teachers build a consistent art history curriculum for kids in their classrooms.
