Geostatistics is a collection of numerical techniques used to study spatial phenomena and capitalizes on spatial relationships to statistically estimate possible values of variables at unsampled locations. Geostatistical analysis also quantifies the uncertainties of the estimated values associated with variability across the site being analyzed. Geostatistics differs from classical statistics in that it uses the sampling location of every measured value to drive the estimate at each unsampled location of interest.
