The village of Germil, located at an altitude of about 600 meters, is a typical mountain village, with very concentrated stone dwellings, nestled where the topography of the headwaters of the Germil River allows. The village is structured around winding cobbled paths that lead to small and wide threshing floors. This medieval village, which was once called São Vicente de Germil, has a vast cultural heritage, especially of ethnographic value. It fits into a magnificent composition of terraces, essential for the agricultural exploration of the slopes. Here, intensive subsistence agriculture predominates, in small, generally walled plots. In the surroundings of the village you can appreciate the agroforestry mosaic, where the agricultural plain is interrupted by thickets of Alvarinho oak.
