Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a safe and painless test that uses a powerful magnet and FM radio waves to produce detailed pictures of the body’s soft tissue organs and other structures. An MRI differs from a CAT scan (also called a CT scan) because it does not use XRay or other potentially damaging forms of radiation.
