ESPHome is a perfect complement to Home Assistant. In this video I show you how to get started using it and creating your own DIY sensors.

I show you how to set up a PIR Motion Sensor and Capacitive Touch Button using a D1 Mini ESP8266 microcontroller.

You may sometimes need to install a USB driver so that you microcontroller is discovered in Windows. The most common driver is the CH341 Driver which can be downloaded from multiple locations, including this one:
