Street food is readytoeat food or drinks sold by a hawker, or vendor, in a street or at other public places, such as markets or fairs. It is often sold from a portable food booth, food cart, or food truck and is meant for immediate consumption.
As you drive through Accra Ghana, you can’t help but notice the many colourful street food stalls by the sides of the road, selling various street foods. This is one way Ghanaians express their love for food and the many different tastes and flavours.
Gary and Beans happens to be one of the most popular street foods available in Ghana. It’s made up of deep fried sweet plantains, black eyed beans and palm oil.
In this video, Grace who works as a nurse and sells beans on her days off will take us through her day and show us how she prepares this delicious meal.
