Ghost Town in the Sky was opened on May 1st, 1961 in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. With an elevation of 4,650 ft, this amusement park was nicknamed North Carolina's mile high theme park. in 2002, attendance at the park declined and this year marked the last regular season for it to be opened. Several attempts have been made to reopen the amusement park. In 2007 the park opened back up on May 25th, however the train, the monster, and the inclined railway did not reopen. The park suffered damage from a mudslide on Feburary 5th, 2010 however the damage is unknown to the public. 4 years after 2008 financial crisis the "Howard Johnson's" building and chairlift reopened. Hopefully soon, this place will open back up completely so I can visit it as my dad once did, and as you can see by this video, someone has been doing some work recently which is a good sign.

Anyone interested in seeing the park, then watch Dean Teaster's Ghost Town (2006). The film was completly filmed at Ghost Town in the Sky.

I'm extremely proud of this video for a few reasons. This is the first video that I have made outside of my familiar stomping grounds in the states of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. This is also the first Abandoned video that I have done that involves something other than a house, neighborhood, or restaurant (Wimp's Dairy Bar). I hope to do more amusement park videos (whether open or abandoned) in the future. As an added bonus, my dad actually went here back in the early 1980's with his parents and uncle.

!!!!!! If anyone viewing this video has any stories or memories about this park, then please tell me about them in the coments down below!!!!!

Hello, my name is Hayden W. Bradley and thank you for watching my videos.
Welcome to my channel where I do vlogs, reviews, and random stuff... I was born in Boulder Colorado in 2003, however I live in the past... well not actually, but I know a whole lot about things from the 1960's through the 1980's, so don't be surprised if you notice a retro theme in some of my videos. I usually try to upload a video every 23 days. So as they use to say on TV:
Don't touch that dial and stay tuned for more....
