The restaurant we asked to photograph this time is the Chinese restaurant "Azuma Azuma" in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture.
There was a period of time after Corona began when the owner's grandfather passed away and the restaurant was in a difficult situation. At that time, his grandson, Honoka Ikeda, decided to follow in his footsteps, saying, "I don't want to lose the taste of my grandfather's cuisine, which I have helped to serve ever since I can remember! I don't want to lose my grandfather's taste! Xu Weijuan. She was a childhood friend of Mr. Ikeda's and has fond memories of eating the food prepared by his predecessor at the restaurant. When she learned that Mr. Ikeda was taking over the restaurant, she started working there to help out. Today , Mr. Ikeda and Xu Weijuan live and work together. Despite the management difficulties due to the Corona disaster and price hikes for foodstuffs, the restaurant is loved by the locals, with wrestlers from the nearby Sadogatake Sumo stable of sumo wrestlers coming to eat there. For lunch, a special lunch with a main dish and a small bowl of cooked food is popular. I had the nirareba, which is made from fresh liver that they purchase from a butcher they have a long relationship with, and it was really delicious.

As a side note, Xu Weijuan's father is Xu Mingjie, a pitcher who once played for the Seibu Lions.
