We have repaired and restored a Gibson Les Paul Historic Collection.
It is probably a 1954 Les Paul reissue.

For me, touchup work on seethrough paint is very difficult.
I have some confidence when it comes to solid colors, but...
My idea of a perfect seethrough touchup is to write the grain of the wood with a brush.
However, I don't have the ability to write the wood grain.

The touchup I did this time was to add the seethrough color with a brush.
Some people may think that using an airbrush is the way to go, but it's very important to paint seethrough colors (maybe).
In the case of sheet metal painting, it is not possible to use a spray gun to apply blur.
This is the work of painting the boundary between the color of the paint and the color of the shaved paint without leaving any brush marks.
Of course, you have to color match the seethrough paint.

It doesn't work well at all. We went through a lot of trial and error.
I told the customer that I didn't know how it would turn out, so through trial and error, I think I was able to get it to the point where it wouldn't be visible from a distance.

The rest of the work is the usual overall work (polishing parts, etc.), refret (fret replacement), and nut replacement.
Rounding off the edge of the fretboard is now done to some extent to get the ideal finish.
Of course, the fret polishing is getting closer to my idea of perfection.
However, the process of hammering the frets into the fingerboard is not as I want.
I think I still have a lot of work to do. I'll think about it.
