This Gigabyte P55 Gaming laptop that came in the shop the other day was overheating the second you turn it on. After replacing the thermal paste and cleaning the nicotine pillow from the vent, it was still overheating, just not as fast. I realized I forgot to replace the silicone thermal pads on the MOSFET's.
This is why I don't completely assemble a laptop before testing it!
