Glacier Peak in 4K | Washington's most remote volcano (Scramble Route)

Even though we have gone on over a hundred hikes in the NW, we have only seen Glacier Peak four or five times. It is so remote, you have to hike 12 miles just to catch a glimpse of it!

We chose to climb up Disappointment Peak rather than over glacier on our approach to the summit. There were class 2 and some class 3 moves on the way up, including a few no fall zones.

The total trip was over 35 miles, with over 11,000 feet elevation gain over the two days. We suggest camping at High Camp, the views are unreal!

Recent trip reports had shown that microspikes and poles were enough, but there was a lot of melted snow so some glacier travel was required with crevasses on both sides. Plan ahead for that! Many groups had turned around for this reason.
