Gladiolus are one of my all time favourite old fashioned garden flowers! They grow from corms and prefer full sun and consistent water to help them reach their full beauty potential! Dig a trench or holes about 4 inches deep and plant corms sprout end facing up. You can space them 3 to 8 inches apart or in a cluster for a lovely display in your garden! If the flowers are top heavy when in full bloom, staking may be necessary. These old fashioned charmers also make beautiful cut flowers! Gladiolus corms are not winter hardy so they must be dug up, cured and stored in a cool dark place until you are ready to replant them the following year!
