The bottle of soda you drink may have been other bottles in the past. This makes it one of the most sustainable materials out there. The manufacturing process is relatively simple. This involves collecting the products, separating contaminating materials, such as the label, plastics, etc., washing and grinding the glass.

The glass cycle works like this: the clean glass bottle or pot is discarded and destined for recycling. The truck collects it and transports it to the recycler, which returns as raw material to the factories, and in the end the bottle is consumed again by us.

Starting with the separation of bottles or glass jars in our residence that are taken to the appropriate disposal.

The truck dumps all recyclable materials at receiving stations.

Realize that all material is mixed, whether metal, plastic or glass.

The tractor picks up the materials and dumps them on the collection mats.

Workers make the preselection of materials, trying to separate the glass from the rest.

During the process, materials are crushed into smaller particles.

Strong magnets are used to remove the metal.

The conveyors vibrate trying to separate the glass from plastic, paper, and any other product.

The difference in density between the materials also helps in this separation.

Pure glass is ground to a fine powder. Its appearance resembles sand.

Finally the raw material is ready to be transported to factories.
