Glomerulopathy = pathology of the glomerulus

Pathology of the glomerulus is suggested by albuminuria (albumin in the urine). Albumin, due to its large size, does not get filtered through a healthy glomerulus.

Glomerulonephritis (GN) is a specific form of glomerulopathy, that is, inflammatory glomerulopathy. The main clue to GN is the presence of glomerular hematuria (dysmorphic RBCs and RBC casts) +/ AKI and/or leukocyturia.
