As a traveler I use Workaway to find interesting things to do and fun places to stay without using hostels or hotels. For the last couple of weeks I have been at Quinta da Gaita, a goat farm in Monchique in the hills overlooking the Algarve. With spectacular vista of the coastline from Lagos to Faro Quinta da Gaita was a great place to stop for a minute. My tasks were mostly construction of a large green house that will be used as a goat house as the flock continues to grow.

Another Workawayer, Star, had the job to take care of the goats, starting at 7am with the feeding and then milking she. then took the females in the flock for a 23 hr grazing stroll through the forest surrounding the property. Without pathways to follow she and the goats would blaze trails through the virgin forrest and the sounds and singing that. she did. through the walk would echo up to where I was working.
