[Joe] Akyli came home with roses and a sign to be asked to homecoming and Amyah ambitiously aimed to stand out from the start with her ankara outfit. I wasn’t ready for any of it, and to be truthful, I was a little hurt. Not the kind of hurt that is physical, but the type of pain that comes on when you recognize that your memories are now fleeting to then be picked up in another chapter. Although it’s called ‘Homecoming’, our girls will soon be leaving our home to make their own decisions in the real world. Holy Spirit, guide them and protect them from the boys that I can’t fight off!
