The project was the installation of two of the large 802 tonne Integrated Template Structures and one smaller 140 tonne SWPS template on the seabed in the Laggan and Tormore Fields for Total E & P UK Ltd. The two gas and condensate fields are located approximately 125 km North West of the Shetland Islands on the UK Continental Shelf.

Two pipelines, each 18 in diameter and 143 km in length, transfer the gas from the subsea production system to the specially built Shetland Gas Plant. Production began in February 2016.

The positioning tolerances for the installation were ±2.5 m for the ITS templates and ±0.5 m for the SWPS in water depths is about 600 metres. The orientation of the structures was to be within ±2.0°. DOF Subsea UK provided the survey and positioning and support from the vessel Skandi Skansen. Final positions were within 1 m and headings within 1°.

The deepwater construction vessel SSCV Thialf is a semisubmersible crane vessel operated by Heerema Marine Contractors. It was the largest crane vessel in the world until 2019 when the SSCV Sleipnir, also owned by Heerema, became the largest.
