Today I am reviewing the Open acrylics by Golden. I was curious to try these slowdrying acrylic because they claim to dry slower than traditional acrylics and behave more like oils. Open refers to "open time" or how long they remain workable. I am using the Modern Color sample set. You can find that set as well as single tubes here: https://shrsl.com/2623g

Pros:
*Slow Drying
*Lightfast
*Artist Quality
*Highly Pigmented
*Compatible with other acrylics (although mixing them with regular acrylics will reduce the open time)
*Dabs of paints stay usable on the palette for hours

Cons:
*These might stay wet too long for some painters
*They are a bit pricy as only available in professional grade. however, they are priced similarly to other prograde acrylics.

Bottom line: I love these paints and I think they are my favorite acrylics for completing a painting. I wouldn't use them in applications where a quickdry finish is needed but for the joy of painting a picture, these are the best. Nice job Golden!
