Meadow Club is a private golf club located in Bon Tempe Meadow on Mt. Tamalpais just above the small town of Fairfax in Marin County. This beautiful 18 hole course was placed perfectly in the hills of Marin in 1927 and was Dr. Alister Mackenzie's first design in North America. This was also Mackenzie's first collaboration with Robert Hunter.

We went up on a Friday morning and the day could not have been better. The course is always kept in perfect playing conditions, and the walk is one of the best I have yet taken. Meadow Club is challenging but rewarding, and if you don't find yourself in one of those beautiful bunkers at some point or another you are one of the lucky ones. Or maybe not, because they are a true work of art.

If you ever get the chance to play at this private club I highly suggest you drop all other plans and find yourself there. Meadow Club is simply a piece of golf history and it will always be one of my favorite courses. What a treat it is to play up there. Count your blessings, for this game is something we should never take for granted.
