Grammar Rule 1: Subject-Verb Agreement

Follow
Unique Prep

IMPORTANT! We created our grammar rules manual and associated videos for the pre2016 SAT, but almost all the info is applicable to the post2016 SAT and the ACT. Some rules also apply to the Digital SAT (DSAT), namely rules 1, 2 (mainly pronoun agreement), 3, 4, 8, 9, and 11. While most rules in this playlist are tested on all the aforementioned tests, the frequency with which each rule shows up varies from test to test. For instance, SubjectVerb Agreement (SVA) was one of the most common rules on the pre2016 SAT; that's why it's the first rule. However, SVA is somewhat less common on the post2016 SAT and the ACT, although it makes a comeback on the DSAT! A few "subconcepts" won't be tested at all on newer tests; for example, in SVA, we rarely if ever see "compound subjects joined by or/nor" tested anymore. Again, these videos are relevant to the SAT, the DSAT, and the ACT, but be forewarned that you'll need to supplement with additional materials that cover other rules (e.g., commas with essential and nonessential elements is a big one) if you want more targeted, thorough prep (and something close to a perfect score). Stay tuned—we plan to upload updated videos eventually.
