The one thing everyone knows about Grayson Perry, the celebrated British artist and Turner Prize winner, is that he is a man fond of wearing a dress. Nowadays, his famous alterego Claire tends only to come out for special occasions, such as the opening of his first solo exhibition in France: "Vanity, Identity, Sexuality" at the Monnaie de Paris. Perry has made himself a household name in Britain by sculpting pots and stitching bold tapestries that grapple with modern social issues.
