GRIVA (The Genealogical Research Institute of Virginia) was happy to have Janice Murphy Lorenz and Nancy Brennan of the National Huguenot Society, present their "Colonial Virginia Huguenots – Who They Were & How They Influenced America" talk for us on 6 December 2022.

Janice Murphy Lorenz is a Virginia born and bred Huguenot descendant with Huguenot ancestry on both her maternal and paternal lines. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Virginia and her Juris Doctor degree from the TC Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. Janice’s experience with genealogy began almost twenty years ago when she became a member of The National Huguenot Society where she has been an active, contributing member ever since. Janice served as President General from 2011 to 2015 and is an Honorary President General for life. In addition, she has authored and contributed to numerous publications and has been the Editor of the National Huguenot Society’s magazine, The Cross of Languedoc, since 2006.

Nancy Wright Brennan is a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, TX. She has been an active researcher and leader in lineage societies for many years. She has been past president of the Texas State Genealogical Society; past president of the Huguenot Society of Texas and has held offices with state and local chapters of the DAR, Colonial Dames and the Jamestowne Society. Nancy has also authored and contributed to numerous genealogy articles and books. Nancy served as the Registrar General for the National Huguenot Society for six years and has been the Genealogist General for the Society since 2015.
