GRIVA (The Genealogical Research Institute of Virginia) was happy to have David Givens from the Jamestown Rediscovery Project present for us on 25 May 2021.

DAVID GIVENS, Director of Archaeology from the Jamestown Rediscovery Project joins us to highlight the recent finds of highprofile individuals of the 1617 Church at James Fort. As part of the ongoing forensic pursuits of the rediscovery project, Mr. Givens will discuss excavations, genomics and identification methodologies that are bringing the 400yearold site into the 21st century.

David Givens is a staff archaeologist with the Jamestown Rediscovery Project. Mr. Givens specializes in archaeological Geographic Information Systems. His job involves the linking of volumes of spatial data and archaeological information into a viable and sustainable digital archive. He is also a principal author of the book Church and State: The Archaeology of The Foundations of Democracy.
