🤔 Groin Trains VS Hamstring Tendon Injuries

Follow
OMNI P-rehab | Exercise, Anatomy & Movement

The groin strains type of injuries can have very similar symptoms to those of hamstring tendon injuries. I explain why in the video, where I visually show you the location of the tendons that can get injured.

That is not the only reason though. The adductor and hamstring groups are more interconnected than you think. Let me explain myself here.

The adductor group and the hamstring group can act as support for each other or they can act as antagonists to each other. This is very interesting and in order to fully understand, we must look at the functional anatomy of the muscles.

The Bicep femoris is a muscle responsible for hip extension and assisting lateral hip rotation

The Semitendinosus and membranous are muscles also responsible for hip extension (alongside the bicep femoris) but on the same side, they assist to create MEDIAL hip rotation which is an antagonist to the bicep femoris.

The same goes for the adductors.
