Video Summary:
GH is released by somatotrophs in the anterior pituitary. GHRH causes synthesis and release of GH while somatostatin inhibits its release. GH inhibits its own release by negative feedback effect on somatotrophs. IGF1 which is secreted in response to GH, directly inhibits GH release by suppressing somatotrophs, indirectly it suppress GHRH release or increase secretion of somatostatin both of which in turn inhibits somatotrophs.
