The Grumman A6 Intruder was developed during the late 1950s and early 1960s. The A6 Intruder served as an allweather and night attack aircraft. It was used in several conflicts, including the Vietnam War and the Gulf War.

The A6 Intruder was eventually developed into the EA6B Prowler.
