Flying is all I do! Been flying like this since I was a kid, both through 24 years Military, F4 and F16, a Commercial Captain, American Airlines 737 and several years of General Aviation. Have experienced a few windy landings over the years.. Listen to my thoughts all the way through as I approach a sporty landing with gusty crosswinds. Enjoy!

Very gusty at altitude, Field calling 200/12G16.. (Rwy 27). Good practice day. Very wide grass runway..forgiving. I was #2 in a 2 ship, so I took spacing on downwind, and had alot of time to get the aircraft in a good position. We land the Husky in ratty conditions using 20 or Less degrees of flaps.. Sometimes a 3 point, sometimes a wheel landing. I also dump the flaps at touch down to glue it down, and allow for aggressive braking if needed..

**It is important to note that this IS NOT a STOL approach.. If you are Gusty and Short field, that is a different situation, and if you subscribe, a video for another day. Today's approach is flown slightly fast for responsiveness to the Gusts, and to keep margin.. My Aimpoint was 400 ft down, and the turnoff is near the end. Runway length is not a factor here at 2K.

The aircraft is my 2015 Aviat Husky nicknamed "Lemondrop" but I usually just say "Yellow Husky" on the radio.. I shoot all flying video in 4K with Go Pro Hero 7/8 cameras using Strap Metal mounts. This video has digital scans and zooms on 3 or more angles, with more view angles to come!
