The Gyrocopter flying club film demonstrating the advantages of our take off technique. The technique principle difference ignores the wheel balance and focuses more on taking off.

Actually what you might really take away from the film is that whilst gyroplanes might & can unstick from the ground early their performance to clear 50ft is not actually that amazing or it isn't if you are going to respect the need for airspeed in the climb out!

You'll also note that in neither take off I use 100% power immediately. Firstly it makes little difference actually as the rotor can't make great use of the faster ground roll until rotorRPM has started to increase and secondly a more gradual throttle application is more appropriate to an aircraft that doesn't have very good ground handling qualities.
