A compilation of 5 different lowerings, filmed within the space of about 12 hours, at this level crossing in Halbeath on the Eastern edge of Scotland's newest city, Dunfermline. One of two public highway level crossings in the Fife council area, it has loud alarms (one of which is faulty), four barriers which appear to struggle to raise slightly, and is controlled from down in Edinburgh. The level crossing is on the Dunfermline City section of the Fife Circle Line, and sees most usage from trains heading for Glenrothes with Thornton and Cowdenbeath, with occasional through services to Perth / Dundee and beyond using this line rather than the coastal section of the circle via Kirkaldy. It appears as though the lowering sequence is started as soon as possible after a train has been seen to leave either Dunfermline City or Cowdenbeath stations.

The two services filmed on the Sunday evening featured in the first two lowerings, were actually the final trains of the evening as ScotRail cancelled every other train planned to run for the rest of the evening (reportedly due to crew shortages). Nonetheless, a couple filmed fairly early in the morning after a good sleep nearby made up for this, and I hope you enjoy the video!
