A mechanic at Halfords in Wigan reversed my car into a customer’s Mini and decided to keep the whole thing quiet. Fortunately the incident was captured on my front and rear dash cam. Having been presented with the footage, Halfords eventually agreed to pay for the £2400 repair bill through their insurers. However, they refused to pay any compensation or even refund the £500 bill for the work that was being done to my car at the time they crashed it. After 3 months of wrangling, the manager of the Wigan branch agreed to pay me £230 as a gesture of goodwill. Their handling of this incident was poor to say the least. I won’t be using Halfords again.
