Naomi and I were walking through Thamel in 2000 and heard a sarangi player who took us to the Gandharba Art and Culture Center where we were treated to a concert of traditional music. They also played this song written on the occasion of Tenzin Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hilary sumitting Mt Everest for the first time. The musicians are Suman Gandharba and Krishna Bahadur Gandharba on sarangi fiddles, Binod Gandharba on the drum, and Ramgi Gandharba on tambourine. A wonderful encounter.
