Many people suffer from chronic tight and painful hamstring muscles. Despite stretching their hamstrings for years and years, the tightness and pain often continue. Often, stretching actually aggravates the problem. Why is that?

Tight and painful hamstring muscles are often the result of a buildup of fascial adhesions (AKA scar tissue). Fascial adhesions are fibrous in nature and do not respond well to being stretched. Stretching fascial adhesions is like trying to stretch a leather belt. Therefore, stretching is an ineffective technique for trying to loosen up your hamstring muscles if they are full of fascial adhesions.

Dr. Joe demonstrates how to "break up" these fascial adhesions using various fascial release techniques. These techniques are easy to perform at home and are highly effective.
